roman numerals, in a rectangular case with floral engraved side panels and a moulded base, 15|in; 39.5cm , with key, c. 1840.
A SATINWOOD REPEATING BRACKET CLOCK,
the dial signed Desbois & Wheeler, London, engraved on the backplate Desbois & Wheeler, Gray’s Inn Passage, with knopped pillars and gut fusee, striking the hours on a single
bell, the case with a dentil cornice, 16in; 41cm, with pendulum locking, 1830′.
Desbois and Wheeler are recorded by Baillie as working until 1835.
A WALNUT BRACKET CLOCK in Well-
figured wood, the movement with twin chain fusee, striking the hours on a
single rod gong and the half-hour on a bell, with an enamel dial and bevel-glazed sides, with pendulum, 17in; 43cm, c. 1860.
